At the beginning of each year, I plan the books I want to read. This year, I decided to share my list publicly.

Few rules:

  • The following list is not comprehensive.
  • I usually read around 30 books yearly but like leaving room for spontaneity.
  • The list also doesn’t include comic books/graphic novels since I usually don’t threaten them like books (reading a graphic novel usually takes only 2 to 3 hours).
  • The list is not in reading order.
  • I’m mostly reading sci-fi and horror, so if you are not interested in that topic, you probably won’t find anything interesting.

Since everything is clear now, let’s proceed with the list:

  • Blood Meridian, or, the Evening Redness in the West by Cormac McCarthy. Right now, I’m reading The Road, and it is a quality read, so I want to get familiar with more works of this author.
  • Bobiverse Vol. 3: All These Worlds and Vol. 4: Heaven’s River by Dennis E. Taylor. Bobiverse is my best find of 2023. Light-hearted, funny Sci-Fi for nerds.
  • Falling by T.J. Newman. I don’t know much about this book, but I liked the premise, and the ebook was on sale.
  • Alien novels, including Alien: The Cold Forge by Alex White. I generally have 5 other Alien novels to read. I’ll pick some of them this year. I’m a big Alien franchise fan, and I try to watch, read, and play as much as possible.
  • The Disaster Artist: My Life Inside The Room, the Greatest Bad Movie Ever Made by Greg Sestero and Tom Bissell. A few years ago, I watched The Room and The Disaster Artist movies, and I like to read more about Tommy Wiseau’s life.
  • Starship Troopers by Robert A. Heinlein. Gold era of Sci-Fi. I enjoyed a movie based on that book, so I want to check the original.
  • Nuclear War: A Scenario by Annie Jacobsen. I always try to pick some nonfiction to read. This book was recommended by my friend.
  • Expeditionary Force #1: Columbus Day by Craig Alanson. I started to listen to an audiobook last year but couldn’t focus on it in that form, so I decided to switch to an ebook.
  • The Devil’s Advocate by Steve Cavanagh. Last year, I listened to Th1rt3en from this series, and it kept me on edge, so I selected another Eddie Flynn adventure.
